Description
Short revision course for those preparing for GCSE Physics, IGCSE Physics, or GCSE Combined Science this coming summer (AQA, OCR, Cambridge and EDEXCEL).
Course dates: Tuesday 30th December 2025
All courses are taught by Karl (yes, the chap in the VideoPlatoAcademy videos), a very experienced and qualified Physics teacher.
This course is online (via Microsoft Teams) and includes:
- A short video to watch and questions to answer in preparation for each lesson. This is on the basics of each topic to ensure that all students start from a similar place.
- Handouts and examples to accompany each lesson
- Questions set between each lesson and marked with feedback given
- Two 45 minute lessons
- Maximum of 6 students per course
The timings are as follows:
Tuesday 30th December: Lesson 1 10:45am to 11:30am; Lesson 2 2:30pm to 3:15pm
The topics covered will include:
- Rutherford Scattering and the Nuclear Model of the Atom
- Alpha, Beta and Gamma Radiation
- Half-Life
Please remember that this is a revision course and students will be expected to have some understanding of their work. The preparatory questions and videos will help students revise a basic understanding before we take the ideas further during the lessons. Students can always contact me with questions prior to lessons if they are concerned about any particular topics.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to cover the complete topic in two lessons.
